Jamaica

Disaster Overview

Hurricane Melissa made landfall in Jamaica on October 28, 2025, as a catastrophic Category 5 storm. With sustained winds of nearly 185 mph, entire communities were devastated. Homes were flooded, roofs torn off, power lines down, and access to clean water cut off, leaving families to struggle meeting even their most basic needs.

Acts of Mercy International Response

We are continuing to assess needs for the upcoming months, deploy specialized teams, distribute aid, and serve children in the local schools, and work alongside local partners as rebuilding efforts are underway in southwestern Jamaica. Our medical teams are serving in outlying, unreached areas by running community health clinics, treating injuries, and distributing essential medications. Construction crews are on the ground installing tarps and stabilizing damaged homes.

We are actively responding to the hurricane in Jamaica with multiple deployments, providing critical relief to affected communities. Your support makes a difference—whether through prayer, giving, or joining our efforts on the ground.

We are incredibly grateful for the financial contributions that have allowed us to serve, support, and bring hope to those in need. Thank you for partnering with us in this vital work!
