This is the story of a coconut tree climber in Mahabalipuram who came back to life with AOM volunteers help. Vedagiri, aged 35, met with an accident on 31.12.2001 while crossing the East Coast Road. A portion of his skull was damaged beyond repair and was removed by the doctors at Chengalpattu Gov. Medical college hospital. This left him unfit to take up any physical work. He and his family of two kids were left without any means of livelihood.

This is when our AOM volunteers came across this case and decided to help the family. Mr. Vedagiri was taken to a string of hospitals in the city and finally was admitted on the 2nd of August 2002 at VHS. To raise money for the 'left temporo parietal cranioplasty with acrylic bone cement' was a big task. AOM took the challenge and Vedagiri was operated on the 6th of September 2002.

He was back to normal life in a month, and now supports and earns for his family. Hope for a better tomorrow for one more family.
