Satyawati :: Fishing Village, Kokilamedu

A 13 year old who was all-alone at home when Tsunami hit. While trying to escape from the huge waves that engulfed her, she fell and broke her knee. Her mother, a widow informed AOM about her daughter's condition. Her leg was just not healing even though, her cast had been changed over four times. AOM took her to CSI Kalyani hospital, where her injury was re-examined, A new cast was laid. She also underwent Physiotherapy and today Satyawathi is better and can walk and is back to school.

Naggama :: Kokilamedu Fishing village

Nagamma is another victim of the dreaded Tsunami. An old widow who while escaping from the tsunami fell and injured her leg. When AOM came across her she was in a terrible condition writhing in pain and though she had visited many hospitals she was still bed ridden. She was living with her daughter and supporting the family by selling dosas.
After being examined by the physiotherapist and with several sessions of Physiotherapy, today Nagamma is able to walk and is happy getting back to her livelihood, selling dosas.

Chitra :: Kokilamedu fishing Village

Chitra who lives with her widow mother and younger sister is the only breadwinner of the family. She used to stitch clothes and provide food for her family until the tidal wave swept off her sewing machine! She lost all hope till AOM provided her with a sewing machine, sponsored by Insoft.com Pvt Ltd. Today Chitra can support her family. Acts of Mercy is also taking care of the medical treatment of her mother Selvi who suffers from an orthopedic problem .
