Acts of Mercy took a step to make the city cleaner by cleaning a part of the Marina beach! The volunteers identified the stretch from the 'Light House' to the 'Gandhi Statue' as the most feasible. Garbage was collected, put into trash bags and with the help of ONYX were disposed off the right way. We then distributed sets of trash bags to the local vendors to help them keep their surroundings clean for the coming weeks.

The chief guest to support and flag off the event was the Operations Manager of ONYX-CES. The point to be noted here was that the volunteers who came in were musicians, artistes, businessmen, college students and the common men of Chennai. It was real fun for all those who participated during the beach-cleaning event. The rock band 'Moksha', which is one of the top bands in India, volunteered a pro-bono rock show on that evening, in aid of the beach-cleaning project.
