The mission statement of the ACTS OF MERCY is as simple as the boy in the story, "Small things done with great love". Established in the year 1998, it is a non-profit organization with a volunteer force mainly consisting of students, housewives and currently music aficionados who frequent the Unwind Center for the various music events. Its aim is to work with vulnerable people and needy communities by making a positive change in their lives through random acts of kindness.

The first such expression took place in December 1997 during the floods in Perambur, Chennai. A team of about 10 people took it upon themselves to provide a meal for those in the affected areas. This was an eye-opener and a rewarding experience to all those who were part of it. This was the beginning! Ever since, Acts of Mercy has been organizing simple and random acts of kindness involving the community on a regular basis. The goal is to encourage people of this community to do small things in great love.
